Run a classroom brainstorm with one QR code

Asking “any ideas?” gets you the same three hands every time. Put a QR code on the projector instead: everyone contributes at once, quieter students included, and every idea lands on the board signed with a nickname in its own color.

Create a room Free • no student accounts • nothing stored afterwards

Set it up before the bell

  1. On the classroom PC, create a room. You join instantly as the owner - your posts are signed “Owner”.
  2. Post the brainstorm prompt as the first message: “Ways our town could cut plastic waste - go!”
  3. Put the room’s QR code on the projector (it’s right there in the room’s share panel).
  4. Students scan with a camera, type a nickname - real name or not, their choice - and start posting.
  5. Ideas appear on the projector in real time, each in its author’s color.
  6. To wrap up, toggle read-only: the board freezes, and you talk through the best ideas together.
  7. Tap Copy all to keep the thread in your lesson notes. The room erases itself within hours.

Why it works in a classroom

Bigger classes: one device per table

A room holds up to 10 devices at once. For a class of 30, that’s a feature, not a limit: give each table group one phone or tablet. Groups argue their ideas out loud first, then post the good ones - you get less noise and better thinking than 30 simultaneous streams.

FAQ

Do students need to install anything or make an account?

No. Students scan the QR with their camera, the room opens in the browser, they type a nickname and start posting. Works on any phone, tablet or laptop.

My class is bigger than 10 - can I still use it?

Use one device per table group. A room holds up to 10 devices, which maps neatly onto group work for a full-size class.

Can students post links or spam the room?

Links are blocked outright and messages are rate-limited. If things get lively, flip the room to read-only for a moment - only you can post until you flip it back.

What happens to the ideas afterwards?

Tap Copy all to paste the whole thread into your lesson notes before you leave. The room deletes itself after 6 hours of inactivity - nothing is stored.
